This is a hat made of a white boucle style yarn. This is a basic design that goes with about everything. I also made the pins in the lower picture so that it would match the three colors of coats that were owned by the recipient.
I have made several hats that are made out of a lightweight wool blend yarn. I made one for my husband and brother-in-law and they love to wear them hiking. Below is my brother-in-law's hat. It has a ribbed edge at the bottom of the hat.
This is my favorite hat that I have made so far. I was trying to think of some ideas for designs for my hats and I remembered a design from a crochet pattern book. It is a Filet design similar to th blanket in the earlier post, My First Crochet Projects. The pattern was filet squares in a diagonal line. The pink stripe was a neccesity rather than great design thought. At the time I had made this hat I had never used more than one color (I had not attempted to change colors yet), but I had to due to running out of the grey before the hat was complete.
This is a scarf that I made for a friend of mine for their birthday. The yarn color is Edwardian (Heathered Solid. Dark, almost iron-gray). It is a very soft boucle style yarn. This is one of my favorite kinds yarn, though my favorite color is Gothic (Heathered Solid. Cool dark purple, accented with black and gray).
I forgot that while I was in the middle of making the baby blanket I actually finished three other items for Christmas presents. I only have pictures of the two scarves I made my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. I never got a picture of my Chinese sister-in-law with her hat. I made the scarves out of a Boucle yarn, one in black and one in gray.
I am so excited about this weekend! On Saturday I will be in the South Knox Arts & Crafts Show. This will be held at the Gov. John Sevier Home (Marble Springs) on August 4th from 9am-2pm. There will be lots of stuff going on there. There will be the artist and crafters as well as tours, reenactors, music, food, a silent auction, and a flag ceremony with a local Boy Scout Troop. It seems to be a great time and better yet, it is FREE! They have been seeking out local artist and crafters to have booths to sell their wares. I was excited and wanted to join, so I did. I am going to go and have a booth with my crochet hats (and other things). I have my sister-in-law joining me with her oil paintings and my mother-in-law with her cards made from her wildflower pictures. I cannot wait to see how this goes. I am a little nervous because I have never done this sort of thing before. Hopefully all will go well.
This is the first baby blanket I made. I made this in 2005 for my son's teacher who was having a little boy. This was my own design from a basic pattern from the book "The Crochet Stitch Bible" called filet squares.
I also made a baby hat as well. This was made from a wonderful terry yarn. I love terry yarn for baby hats. It is a soft yarn and looks very good. Since this time I have made several of these hats for other babies. I think this is the only picture I have of this hat. I will try to find a picture of one of the pink ones I made.
